Mario Soucy is an accomplished designer, sculptor, prosthetic maker, moulder, chemist, painter, teacher, guest lecturer, entrepreneur, businessman and a professional special effect makeup art since 1986. But most of all, Mario Soucy is a visionary.

Soucy ascended rather quickly in the industry mostly because of his amazing talent, outgoing approach, professionalism, and also for his much sought after originality. Self-taught, Mario Soucy decided to expend his scope and acquire new skills by first working in a dentistry lab and later taking classes in entrepreneurship, human resources and a correspondence course in special effects makeup given by the world renowned and Oscar-winning special effects extraordinaire, Dick Smith. Since 2000, M.S.F.X. STUDIO offers a correspondence course in special effects make-up.
M.S.F.X. STUDIO is also a team of dynamic, talented, conscientious professionals who stay on top of their games by constantly acquiring new techniques and expertise.

loves a little variety in his work, which is why you are just as likely to see him on a movie set, a television studio or even on a stage. In feature films, he has worked on, among others, Karmina, Hochelaga, Karmina 2, Histoire de Pen, Maurice Richard, Le Survenant, as well as Warner Brother movie 300. On television, he has worked on Seriously Weird , Les Bougons , Fortier , Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Dans une galaxie près de chez vous . Mario Soucy has also worked on five Cirque du Soleil shows: O , Kà , Zumanity, Kortéo and 2007 .
Among our other projects, La Grande Mascarade for Halloween in Old Montreal where Mario Soucy supervised and designed, along with his team, all the makeup, prostheses and masks. We have also participated in creating seven giant tiger sculptures of 9 to 12 feet hight and up to 30 feet long for the professional baseball stadium, Comerika Park, home of the Detroit Tigers. Mario also made a giant tiger head mural of 6 feet diameter, which was duplicated 31 times.
